Insight Share's Participatory Video methods value local knowledge, build bridges between communities and decision-makers, and enable people to develop greater control over the decisions affecting their lives.
Ecobee was contracted to develop an ambitous new website for the organisation against a relatively tight timescale.
The site allows Insight Share to publish featured videos that have been produced in the Participatory Video workshops from all around the world. Each video has a wealth of meta data and is related to other videos, images, case studies, and articles encouraging visitors to browse the rich and varied content across the site.
This was a fun site to to build, but did present some technical challenges, including:
- how to intelligently automate the cross referencing of multiple content types, while allowing site administrators to override and manual reference;
- allowing local and external video to co-exist in the same content type.
